As the weekend approaches, you can enjoy more sporty fun and free workouts. Explore the fitness hubs around the city, take a trip to Hatta for a triathlon, play with kids and more. Here’s our round-up of the top events this weekend:

Kite Beach Fitness Village

Head to the Kite Beach Fitness Village, where classes are keeping beach-goers active all day long. Come here to put behind a busy week with the sunset, salty sea breeze and of course, tons of free exercise and wellness sessions. The gong meditation at Emirates’ Yoga & Meditation Zone sounds particularly calming, or if you’re in the mood for great beats and moves, the Etisalat Mainstage area is your go-to for hour-long dance workouts.

Dubai Pink Ride

Following up on breast cancer awareness activities in October is the Dubai Pink Ride, which aims to encourage the public about early detection and regular screenings. Join fellow supporters of the cause on Friday morning to spin your wheels along a 13.5km bike path or 32.5km motorbike route. The event is open to all those aged 15 and older.

Grit + Tonic Triathlon: Hatta

Good weather calls for a scenic, outdoorsy escapade from the city. Hit the road to compete with other athletes in the Hatta edition of the Grit + Tonic Triathlon. The second race in the series will see you push your limits and take in the mountain town’s natural splendours. Prepare to swim in the sparkling waters of the Hatta Dam and bike and run up rugged terrains.

Dubai Festival City Half Marathon

How does a healthy dose of steps, waterfront views and community camaraderie sound? Wake up with the Dubai Festival City Half Marathon and enjoy snacks as well as a bit of shopping on the side, thanks to the vendors who will be at the event. The run is open to all ages and abilities, with four routes to choose from, including distances of 1km, 5km, 10km and 21km.

Al Jalila Children’s Fitness District

Have a great time with the family at the Al Jalila Children’s Fitness District this weekend. The children’s hospital has a vibrant evening planned at its lovely garden. Mark your calendar for music from the world’s youngest DJ, a Zumba class, interactive games, a guest performance by Dubai Police’s marching band and a visit from WWE® Superstar Becky Lynch®.

Mercedes-Benz Challenge 

Take part in challenges around Dubai and you could drive off in a brand new Mercedes-Benz GLC 200! Gargash’s action-fueled Mercedes-Benz Challenge will see 100 teams of two to four players compete for the grand prize. Explore the city and show your mettle in exhilarating activities like paddleboarding, go-karting, archery and parkour. Cigna Park Run

The Cigna Park Run takes place every week during Dubai Fitness Challenge and is a popular fixture on the city’s running calendar. It’s the ideal event to get into if you’re keen to make running part of your fitness regime. It’s open to all ages and abilities and you’ll get to connect with regular runners here. Head to the beach on Saturday morning to get set and go. Choose your route – an easy 2.5km or the more rigorous 5km option.
