The Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC) is a month-long event with the aim to transform Dubai into the most active city in the world. With a calendar of exciting events, DFC is all about motivating and involving the residents of Dubai to undertake 30 minutes of continuous exercise a day for 30 days, launched by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council for Dubai Government in 2017. The challenge will run from 26 October to 24 November 2018.

Studies have shown that it takes approximately 30 days to make a significant change in a person’s health and well-being. And that’s why the Dubai Fitness Challenge is encouraging every person in the city to change and enhance their lifestyles, with 30 days of activity.

But it doesn’t end after 30-days; the challenge is about creating a long-term impact, essentially encouraging an overall lifestyle change for those who take part.

Dubai is all about the happiness of its residents – and what better way to create happiness than to encourage a healthier lifestyle for each and every person in the city? The challenge is about more than simple getting active. It’s about promoting a lifestyle that is well-rounded and all-inclusive, enabling people to explore something new, push themselves further and discover more about the city they live in.

The Dubai Fitness Challenge is hosting a month of citywide events and activations at primary locations around Dubai. These include beaches, parks, gyms and public areas. For more information, view the What’s On section.

This year there is a new Dubai Fitness App, which will require a new sign in. Even if you have the one from last year, you will need to create a new account as the app is completely new and will work well after the challenge is over.

You can set goals as a group and work towards them together, whereas individuals have personal goals. Groups can also compare themselves against others, host leaderboards as well as create events.

Dubai Fitness Challenge is all about individual and group participation to contribute to the overall wellness of the city.  A group leaderboard will be set up for corporate and government entities on the App. These will show near real-time updates.

The app is the digital pulse of all the action at your fingertips during the challenge – you can record your activity, discover events and classes. It’s also where we run our leaderboards, ranking contributions of different corporates and individuals towards our collective goal. Learn more and download the app here.

Download the app to see the full schedule of classes all over Dubai. You can select the date you want to attend and see what classes are available that day. You can also filter by class type, facility and location. Please note you will need to contact the facilities to book the class, with instructions available in the App. All classes are available on a first come, first served basis, most have limited spaces. Please contact the facility for more information.

Don’t forget to favourite the classes you have booked by clicking the “heart” icon – these classes will appear on your profile as a reminder that you may have booked them.

Go to the profile section in the app and click “edit profile” to update your information. You can update your name, date of birth and personal information.

Just download it again and login with the same credentials. Your data is saved.

The app is available on iOS and Android only.

Simply download the app in the new phone, and login with same credentials. You will need to use the same phone number to verify your account if you’ve forgotten your password.

Yes, you need to be connected via mobile data or WiFi.

Please contact [email protected] and the technical team will assist you.

Close the app and reopen but do not delete it. Make sure you have a strong Internet connection.

The app allows you to back-date activity. Go to ‘Track Activity’ and select manual input as normal, then add the date and time of the activity completed. You can go back to a maximum of 2 days.

Integrating with other health apps or having your GPS on continuously may be draining your battery. Try switching both of these off when not tracking your activity.

We want all Government organisations, schools and companies across Dubai to join the challenge and commit to 30 minutes of exercise for 30 days.

We encourage corporates, schools and Government entities to appoint champions to lead their organisation through the Dubai Fitness Challenge. Champions are responsible for:

  • Spreading the Dubai Fitness
  • Challenge message in your organisation.
  • Registering their network in the challenge.
  • Arranging events and encouraging participants to achieve their 30 minutes per day

Champions play a vital role in getting their organisation onboard and succeeding in our goal to become the world’s most active city.

There are several ways your group can participate in the challenge; The toolkit has further information with how you can activate the challenge in your circle. Here are some things you can do:

  • Encourage your team to take on the Dubai Fitness Challenge by downloading the Dubai Fitness App and committing to 30 minutes of exercise for 30 days.
  • Visit dubaifitnesschallenge.com for inspirational ideas and set up your own team challenges.
  • Consult health and fitness experts to set up programmes for your team – see the toolkit for suggestions.
  • Encourage an active lifestyle in the office by creating dedicated spaces and time for your team’s 30×30.

Don’t forget to share all you’re doing on social media using #Dubai30x30. You can always contact us for any support that you need by emailing [email protected]

You can contact us by emailing [email protected] or call 600 555559

No, each person must register individually by downloading the app. Please note that each smartphone can only be registered with one account.

Ultimately, it’s about energising Dubai, getting the city active and driving positive lifestyle changes. Encourage your colleagues and staff to do 30 minutes of daily activity for 30 days, and help make Dubai the most active city in the world.

There’s no deadline but to make the most contribution you must be ready to go from 26 October.

Once you register your group on here, you will be provided with a comprehensive corporate toolkit with information that can be shared with your staff.

The more the better, but there is no minimum/maximum number of participants that are needed for Government organisations, companies or schools to register. The number of participants entered when creating the group will determine which leaderboard grouping the organisation will be competing in.

Yes, visit What’s On to see what’s available.

Check the website www.dubaifitnesschallenge.com for the latest updates.

Once you register your organisation, we will send you a toolkit with information on how to activate the challenge. You can also visit www.dubaifitnesschallenge.com for inspirational ideas and advice on how to set up your own team challenges. You can also email [email protected] or call 600 555559 for more information.

Attending, participating and logging all activities into the app is the primary contribution we are looking for. We would also appreciate that most organisations commit to the Dubai Fitness Challenge by helping us co-promote the event by raising awareness with their customers, staff and partners. You can also set your own challenges for your staff and customers. Refer to the toolkit for details.

The Dubai Fitness Challenge does not require an organisation to have a gym space or a fitness facility. Doing any physical activity for 30 minutes or more per day qualifies you as an ‘active participant’ and adds points to your respective company’s accumulated points.

Please refer to the corporate toolkit that was sent at registration. Alternatively, you can also email [email protected] or call 600 555559 for more information.

Groups outside Dubai are welcome to participate in the Dubai Fitness Challenge. Please assign an administrator and sign up on groups.dubaifitnesschallenge.com. For more information please contact [email protected]

  • Visit the groups.dubaifitnesschallenge.com and click on ‘Create a Group’
  • As champion, you’ll first need to create a profile by filling in your work email address, mobile number, name and username, and verifying your account.
  • Next, select the type of group you’re creating and enter your group details. Depending on what type of group you are creating we will need certain information as well as an image.
  • Hit submit, and you’re done. We’ll be in touch if your group is approved.

Yes, and all submissions will be reviewed by the DFC team. Once you’ve created a group, you will be informed via email as to whether or not your group submission was successful.

We encourage as many as possible to reach our goal to make Dubai the most active city in the world.

As a champion, you can only create one group for your organisation, with as many participants as needed. However, you can create as many social groups as you’d like.

Each participant can be a member of only one Corporate, Government or School/University group. There is no limit on the number of facilities or social groups you can be a member of.

There are two ways to keep track of your group; the first is by using the Dubai Fitness App, where you can track activity, view leaderboards and classes as well as member information, viewable on your group’s profile page. The other is on the dashboard of the website, available after you’ve created your group.

Once you’ve created your group online, you’ll be able to invite employees, staff, parents and colleagues via a special link. The DFC team will advise you on the process once the app is ready for download.
