Keep fit in the heart of Dubai as part of Dubai Fitness Challenge
The Burj Park Downtown Dubai Fitness Weekend Carnival, brought to you by DP World, kicked off early with a ladies-only day on Thursday, 9 November. Hundreds of women stretched, jumped and planked at the iconic location, with the record-breaking Burj Khalifa as a backdrop.
The women-only day of outdoor fitness featured massage and physiotherapy sessions, electrical muscle stimulation (EMS), an inflatable kids’ area, food and beverage outlets and tons of awesome classes. Some our favourites were the Leg, Bums & Tums class and Super Abs classes by Fitness 360 in the morning, Les Mills Body Combat by The Aviation Club and the yoga session by Joumana in the evening.
Friday and Saturday at Burj Park, which was open to all, offered the perfect opportunity to get our daily 30×30. The group sessions kicked off with the Wake Up Workout by Bare at 10am and set the pace for high-energy fun. In addition to crowd favourites including Les Mills classes, circuit training, pilates and yoga, there were unique sessions including AfroFit by Dubai Fit Foodie, a dynamic workout that combines HIIT moves with African street dance, and Ultimate Bounce Trampolining.
One of the highlights of the Weekend Carnival was the ninja warrior course. Participants raced against the clock and took on routes that challenged every ability – from the fittest athletes to adventurous children. After working up an appetite, the event’s wide range of food and drink stalls, offering fresh and nutritious snacks, were a welcome pitstop to refuel for the day ahead.
It’s been a wonderful journey so far, and it’s not over yet. The Festival City Weekend Carnival , brought to you by DED, will mark the end of the Dubai Fitness Challenge on the weekend of 17 and 18 November. We’ll race you to the podium!
