The sixth edition of Dubai Run, presented by Mai Dubai, was a historic day for the city, as His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, led an awe-inspiring 278,000 runners in the world’s largest fun run.

Transforming Sheikh Zayed Road and Downtown Dubai into a vibrant celebration of fitness, participants of all ages and abilities donned their signature Sun & Sand Sports t-shirts, creating a sea of green against the city’s iconic skyline. This landmark event was the perfect conclusion to the Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC) 2024, a month-long initiative dedicated to fostering health, wellbeing, and making Dubai one of the world’s most active cities.

The event kicked off with a parade of Dubai Police supercars and aerial entertainment, setting the stage for a thrilling morning. His Highness Sheikh Hamdan led participants along the 10km Sheikh Zayed Route, which offered seasoned runners the unique experience of passing several of Dubai’s most beloved landmarks, finishing at DIFC.

For those seeking a more leisurely pace, the 5km route provided a relaxed yet equally scenic journey through Downtown Dubai, taking in iconic sights like Burj Khalifa and Dubai Opera. Adding to the excitement, international R&B star Jason Derulo made a surprise appearance, energising the crowd before joining the community on the course.

Live music, Untold DJs, and vibrant appearances by Modesh and Dana created a festival-like atmosphere, making Dubai Run a joyous occasion for families and friends alike. The event was a celebration of the city’s unity, diversity and commitment to fitness.

As the runners crossed the finish line, they cemented their place in history, showcasing Dubai’s unique ability to bring people together for unforgettable moments of community and ambition.
